AMAA, City People Awards Nominations Thrill Queen Nwokoye

For years, talented actress, Queen Nwokoye, who is doing well in Nollywood, has been snubbed by the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), one of the major awards organisers in Nigeria.
However, her efforts have now been recognised by the organisation. She was recently announced a nominee for the Best Actress Awards in Leading Role Category.
The actress, who is based in the Eastern part of Nigeria, expressed her gratitude and excitement to be finally recognized for her hardwork.

Rivers ready to host more matches, says Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has, declared his administration’s readiness to host more international football matches as part of efforts to promote sports and also to prove that the state is safe for everybody. Speaking after Sunday’s Rio 2016 Olympics qualifier between Nigeria and Congo in Port Harcourt, the governor stressed “the state has the capacity to host FIFA and other international matches. “We decided to host the match as part of our contribution to sports development and also to prove that Rivers State is safe for everybody. “I also want to commend the Nigeria Football Federation for giving us this opportunity to prove to everybody that we have the capacity and the right atmosphere to host all manner of matches.”

I Never Forced Myself Into Marriage—Damilola Adegbite

Tinsel star, Damilola Adegbite, has no doubt been enjoying her marriage to fellow Ghanaian star, Chris Attoh since they got married on February 14, 2015.
The actress, who spoke recently about her marriage, explained that she never forced herself into settling down with a man.
“I didn’t come from a background that would do such. I never pressured myself to get married. In fact, if I had my way, I would have been single till now, but ‘Oga’ captured me and won’t let go,” she told Daily Independent in an interview.
Speaking on being a mother, Damilola said, “It’s such an amazing feeling. I feel so awesome carrying my baby in my arms.
“The stage of having to carry another full human being was kind of scary though. At a point I was like, I am not doing this again. But when I finally had him, carried him in my arms, he looked so adorable. Right now, I have forgotten all the pains and want three more.”

Joke Silva Loses Mother

All is not well with veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, who is the wife of Olu Jacobs, another veteran actor.
The reason for this is not far-fetched as she lost her mother, Dr Marienne Abimbola Silva, to the cold hands of death.
The deceased was aged 89 and died in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, 2015.
Late Dr Silva was the third female doctor in Nigeria and was honour in 1979 as an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
Her family members are yet to announce the burial plans. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.

Choc City boss, Jude Abaga aka M.I, has given reasons why he does not act or do like his colleagues in the rap industry.
It is a common knowledge that showbiz personalities draw tattoos, wear studs and dress in awkward ways, which some people said have contributed to the rot in the society.
But MI seems to stand out as many people see as a ‘corporate rapper’ because of his principled lifestyle.
Answering a question on why he is different from others, the Choc City boss explained the reason for it.

Julius Agwu Narrates Near-Death Ordeal

Not many knew that popular comedian, Julius Agwu, had a close shove with death few months ago. For a while, his sudden weight loss had become an issue of concern as some unpleasant stories circulated as to the cause of the illness.
In a recent interview with YES Magazine, the father of two narrated how he almost lost his life to brain lumps.
