Children's Day In Nigeria: What Does It Mean To The Children ? by Chukskalidon

My Thoughts On What It Should Hold For Children In The country

Its quite clear that the objectives and goals for setting up the Children's day is hugely demanding and should not be neglected. These goals set by the world at large are based on the rights, for the good and betterment of children globally.

What do you think about the level, quantity and quality of Education partaining to Children in the country. I don't what to say about it. I mean its shameful that most of the children in the country are still under standard with respect to education in the country. I don't know how bad it will be to generalise on this...but its still obvious. One can be poised to ask why there is a large difference between an American kid and a Nigerian?

Its about education...quality one.…

Brymo Dumps Label

The solid bond created in the respected Nigerian music label, Chocolate City, may gradually be obeying the law of disintegration as another artiste, Brymo has reportedly dumped it.

Choc City, as it is also called, recently lost one of its artistes, Jesse Jagz. This is the second artiste the label is losing in three months.

This caused a lot of friction between shola's family and Wizkid's, but funny enough things have calmed down now cause whenever Tife, as he is fondly called is at wizzy's family home, everybody is always happy. They shower the child a lot o…

Yoruba actress, Bimbo Thomas, has debunked speculations that her relationship with friend and colleague, Funke Akindele, has gone sour. She said her friendship with Akindele began before they both starred in Omo Ghetto. She said that they not only enjoy a healthy relationship on the screen but off it too.

She explained that people are quick to conclude on matters they have little or no knowledge about. “Funke has always been my friend, even before Omo Ghetto. People are entitled to their own opinion and that is why they say a lot of nonsense. If you are not close to us you can’t really say what is going on between us, you just can’t judge a book by its cover. I do whatever I like to do, I take whatever decision I like to take,” she said.

She added that as friends they can only make suggestions to themselves rather than assert their opinion. “As adults nobody is boss to anybody. We can only advise and suggest to each other but cannot impose our way on others.”

Nollywood Actresses In Secret Wedding

Nollywood actresses are increasingly cementing their romantic relationships and walking down the isle in secret. The development is becoming so frequent that it appears a normal practice in the industry as these babes now prefer private ceremonies to lavished public events as far as wedding and traditional marriages are concerned.

The big marriage arrangements embraced by the likes of top actresses, Jennifer Eliogu, Ini Edo, Dakore Egbuson, Mercy Johnson, Muma Gee, Tricia Esiegbe, Stephenie Okereke and many others have become outdated as actresses no longer print wedding invitations or mention their marriage plans to friends.

While it is no longer news that secret weddings have become a norm, sources disclosed that they have various reasons why these show biz practitioners prefer to seal their relationships in secret. It was revealed that a number of them were being beaten by the bug of ill-luck in the past to the extent that they prefer maintaining a low profile until af…

BLESSING LIMAN, Nigeria's First Female Military Pilot

In June 2010, Shamsudeen Usman, then the Nigerian Minister for National Planning dropped a bombshell during a presentation: Northern Nigeria has the highest level of illiteracy on earth. Although I wouldn't know how the World Bank came about its figures which the minister quoted, I will be deceiving myself to say that all is well with education in the north.

That explains why it calls for celebration when a young lady from the same northern region becomes the first female combatant pilot not only in Nigeria, but in the entire West African subregion. I present to you the amazing story of Nigeria's winged eagle, BLESSING LIMAN.

Intelligent, witty and yeah, beautiful, Blessing Liman is the first female military pilot of the Nigerian Air Force. In other words, while some Banana Island girls will be shakaraing the entire neighborhood with their Infiniti FX 37, Blessing plays with jet fighters and bombers. Can you beat that? Try again.MORE PICTURES AFTER THE CUT :P
