𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘.
This is the moment the 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲̀ 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 deployed 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗶𝘀𝗵-𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗧𝗕𝟮 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿-𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to neutralize a large gathering of terrorists. This is how modern nations fight insecurity — with technology, precision, and political will.
Now look at the numbers:
💥 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗧𝗕𝟮
(including 100 MAM-L smart munitions): ~$𝟭𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻
➡️ ~₦𝟮𝟭.𝟳 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻
Let that sink in.
According to The Punch, the 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟭 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 spent ₦𝟭𝟭𝟵.𝟵 𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗢𝗡 subsidizing Christian and Muslim pilgrimages between 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.
Let’s do basic arithmetic:
🟩 ₦𝟭𝟭𝟵.𝟵 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 ÷ ₦𝟮𝟭.𝟳 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 ≈ 𝟱.𝟱
Meaning Nigeria could have bought 𝟱–𝟲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗧𝗕𝟮 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 — the same kind Burkina Faso is using to wipe out terrorists in minutes.
But instead… we funded pilgrimages.
Now, as churches and mosques across Nigeria mourn victims of terrorism, both Christians and Muslims are screaming “genocide!” and “we are being killed!”
Yet nobody is demanding that religious leaders and state governments redirect pilgrimage subsidies toward saving human lives.
A painful hypocrisy:
🔻 We sponsor people to the Holy Land…
🔺 But we refuse to sponsor security that protects the land we live in.
Nigeria does not lack money.
Nigeria lacks priorities.
If Burkina Faso — a country with far fewer resources — can use drones to hunt terrorists in real time, what exactly is stopping Nigeria?
Maybe one day, instead of arguing about who is being killed more, Nigerians will ask the more important question:
👉 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲?
