Nigerian woman, Oluwami Dosunmu-Ogunbi, makes history as the first black woman to earn a PhD. in Robotics at the University of Michigan, United States.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
She also holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Born to Nigerian immigrant parents, Dosunmu-Ogunbi grew up with a strong academic background that influenced her academic and professional journey.
Her parents, Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi and Sesi Dosunmu-Ogunbi, are accomplished professionals—her father is a medical director and assistant professor, while her mother is a pediatric gastroenterology specialist.
