Onakoya Offers Scholarship to Nigerian Father's Children

Renowned chess player, Tunde Onakoya has come to the aid of a Nigerian father who was struggling to send his five children to school. The father's emotional plea for help, caught his attention, and he has now offered to sponsor the children's education until university. The father, who shared his story on X (formerly Twitter), explained that his children had dropped out of school due to financial difficulties. He wrote: "Universe, I’m reaching out directly on behalf of my innocent children (plus my first son, who isn’t in this picture). They have dropped out of school this term and need an education. I’ve tried my best, but like many others, my purchasing power has been stripped away." Moved by the father's words, Onakoya responded with a generous offer: "Your children will definitely go back to school. @chessinslums will take full responsibility for their tuition until they complete university. I’ve also made a donation. May God keep you well and alive to witness your children’s success." We commend Tunde Onakoya for his kindness and generosity, and we wish the family all the best as they continue on this new journey.
