JUST THINKING ALOUD WITH PMO

YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL POLITICIANS AND POLICEMEN THIEVES WHEN YOU ARE A THIEF YOURSELF

I know this is not a popular view. I know lo that most of those who think like me are few and will not be bold enough to  voice their thoughts in a society where you are really not allowed to hold an opinion that is not popular. But then, truth is truth.

I am thinking about the recent happenings in our nation. People say the youths have woken up and are demanding for a better society. Some say that in the next elections only the youths should be voted. And I am thinking like, all the youths who were given opportunities in recent past, what difference did they make? Bankole Dimeji, Rotimi Amaechi, Saraki, etc. Or in the first military era, Gowon, Murtala Mohamed, IBB etc. The issue is not about youth. The issue is the mindset of the average Nigerian. Question is, the SARS Officials and  the thieving politicians, are they from another nation or from outer space? The answer is no. They didn't drop from the sky. Neither were they imported from another country. They are from our midst. They are products of the Nigerian system. That means even if you replace all of them, there will be no change.

The Nigerian system has been a twisted one for many years. The average politician and member of the House of Assembly receives a bogus salary as well as those in the executive.  But it is a fact also that everyone or many people in the various constituencies line up monthly in their homes to collect their share of the huge payments. And these politicians dare not say they don't have because they are all aware of how much they are officially paid.  So in every family, once your relative gets into power you think like God has buttered your bread. So to sustain it, the politicians must keep stealing. The senior police officer or military officer must be brutal in order to get more money. Rotten society.

Look at the looting and killings of recent times. What right do the youth who break into innocent peoples shops and homes have to call policemen and politicians thieves when they do the same thing? Let the truth be told, if the average young man in Nigeria today is given the opportunity to be in government they will milk the nation drier than the older generation. Why? Because they are smarter and more "digital". The fact that there are people justifying the theft and destruction shows how rotten our society has become. Sad.

The palliatives stored in warehouses, why is the government hoarding them? Wickedness. Then why are the citizens stealing them? Wickedness. Some justify it because they said it is theirs or their right. Really? What is the criteria for distribution or allocation? The survival of the fittest. Lets call a spade a spade. The hoarding government is a thief, the looting citizens are thieves. In Kaduna, not only did they steal the palliatives,  they stole the roofing sheets of the warehouse, the toilet bowls, the window every thing. I saw a picture of someone stealing the signboard of the house of assembly in Ekiti. We shouldn't encourage such things. We should promote decency.

If you are a Christian and you were involved in these lootings, you had better return everything. The principles of God does not give you justification for looting. Apart from that, you are a king and you have too much rank for that. Lets not promote anarchy and make our nation a dangerous place to live in. If this continues, you will soon become a victim and the attackers will justify it by saying the car you are driving is his right.

For government,  the Nigerian government has been a disappointment from time. Who amongst them really won their election? Only a handful. The change we require is wholistic. The mindset of the average Nigerian must change whether young or old.

The selfishness of the leadership must stop, the stealing must stop, the violence must stop,  the looting must stop and the divisions along ethnic and religious sentiments must stop. The North and South dichotomy must stop.

I am PMO and I am just thinking aloud.
