MY SONGS ARE HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED- GINA OSANG OTU

Gina Osang Otu,also known as GEEENA, is an emerging Nigerian Gospel Artiste,whose songs are inspired by the Holy spirit. In this interview with Eric Olusesan she reveals the secret of her success. Enjoy reading.

When did you discover God's call on your life to be a goospel singer? 

I  discovered it since when I was a teenager but didn't take it seriously until in 2011 when I received a prophecy to that effect.

 What challenges have you faced so far as a recording artist? 

The first challenge is that Nigerians don't download songs. You spend money to create links for free downloads yet they don't.Then there's also the challenge of promoting my songs which cost a whole lot. Getting a record label, marketer, sponsors,etc.

Tell us about your Debut CD "So Awesome"?

My debut album is Titled So Awesome. I released it on May 29th 2016.It depicts God's personality and His wondrous works in our lives.

 Who were/are your mentors in the music ministry?

My mentors in the music industry are Sinach,Ada,Samsong,E­ben,Tonia Shodunke, all the members of Sure Foundation Choir

Tell us about your little beginnings?

 waoh, I started writing songs from a prophecy, then I wasn't even in the choir,even though I really loved to sing. Afterwards I joined the choir and produced my first song in August 2012, gradually proceeded to producing my album.

 How did you nurture your dream?

I did so by The inspiration of The Holy Spirit and by the encouragement, prayers and moral support of my friends and family members.

 What kind of atmosphere or mood inspires you to write your songs? 

There are times The Holy Spirit tells me get ready you're going to write songs today. At other times I get my book and biro, get a comfortable seat and say OK dear Holy Spirit today I'm going to write xyz number of songs and then I begin to speak in tongues and before you know it the words and rythym begin to flow

 

How do you balance being a wife, a mom and also a gospel singer?

 I understand that God is The strength of my life and so all I do is to understand that, declare it and act accordingly. I carry on knowing that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
