Joseph Yobo former captain of the Nigeria National team is pleased to have secured the services of major international players to take part in his testimonial on 27 May in Port Harcourt.
Chelsea captain John Terry, former Barcelona superstar Samuel Eto'o and Nigerian pair, Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike, are some of the big names who will honour the ex-Super Eagles skipper.
Yobo, 35, has been visiting and speaking to players in Europe expected to be at the game and is happy at the overwhelming response, the organisers of the testimonial have said. "It has been amazing. Almost everybody wants to come and play," Yobo said. "My only regret is that I can't invite everybody."
Yobo received a warm reception at Everton where he plied his trade for nearly a decade by the entire club and was presented to a stadium-wide ovation by the fans at half time of their Premier League game against Bournemouth. "That was an emotional moment for me. And I would like to thank Evertonians for the love," he added.
The Joseph Yobo Testimonial, on May 27, will be hosted by the Rivers State government at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
