Keshi condemns Abuja pitch on October 09, 2013 Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi is the latest notable personality to criticize the recently refurbished pitch of the Abuja National Stadium. The Super Eagles coach was unimpressed at the state of the pitch on which he led the eighteen available players in camp to train on Tuesday evening, describing it as dangerous. "From what I saw it is a sandy pitch, and it is hard," Keshi said "It will be very difficult for the players to play on it, especially the goalkeepers because it is sharp sand. Keshi also said that the pitch was likely to be water-logged if it rains. The refurbished pitch which cost over N96 million, has also been criticized by Godfrey Gaiya, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports. Comments
