Best fashion export from Rivers State, DAVIDA Okpara. The face behind the international label, DAVIDA SHIRTMAKERS being appreciated by Rt Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.

Davida Okpara is the creative director for the Davida brand.  A lawyer turned designer; she first
made her mark in 1998 with a fresh take on the blouse shirt which has become her signature.

She was born in Rivers State and  comes from a close knit family of seven. Davida studied at
the Rivers State University of Science and Technology where she studied law. The Davida
range has expanded to include: shirt dresses, cocktail shirts and casual shirts.
Her shirts appeal to individuals who want to make a statement about their love of fashion,
style, design and exquisite fabrics.

Davida’s inspiration comes from her relationship with God, rich cultural background  and travel
experiences. She has an enviable network of stylish friends and customers; so you often find
her designs named after them.

The label has had many trade shows and awards across Nigeria. Some of which are:

·         ST Moritz style selection.

·         Most creative designer of the year by British American Tobacco company ( ST Moritz Style Awards))

·         City People Fashion and Style award: Most creative designer

·         Select cities  quarterly private viewings and sales.


The label has also received several favorable electronic and print media coverage


We are also involved in Charity work; the most recent project being the “Destiny child centre
restoration” runway. A charity initiative of the First lady of Cross Rivers State: Mrs. Obioma
Imoke.
