Reports reaching us indicate that some South West states of Nigeria are jostling to host the 2013 edition of the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YMAA).

This is as a result of the success its first edition achieved. In June 2012, the event held its maiden edition in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The awards witnessed massive turnout of top Yoruba practitioners attending the event in Ogun State.

A source, who is a top stakeholder in the Yoruba movie industry, told naijaentertainers.blogspot.com in confidence that some states in the South West are fighting to host the event this year in their state, which is giving the organisers of the event a bit of headache on which state to host the event this year.

The source, who begged not to be named, revealed to us that the organisers of the event, as things are going, might agree to rotate the event among the South West states based on the interest shown by most of the state governments.

The source said, "Laface (the organiser) might just settle for a rotational formula among the states in the South West. With what I am seeing, that might be the best option for him based on the interest of most state governments to host the awards," our source informed us.

Efforts to get Laface to speak on this matter were unsuccessful as we were unable to reach him because his phone number was not reachable as at the time we called his phone line.
