First Ladies to 'Star' in Mr. Clef Reality Show

Wives of governors from three states in the North West, North Central and South South geo political zones of Nigeria are some of the personalities penciled to grace the first ever 1st Ladies Pageant and Reality Show that had already flagged off in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Thursday. The all ladies affair which is being powered by Royal Salt and Base Water Limited, would pitch 37 contestants drawn from the 36 states of the federation including Abuja whose ages would be between 18 to 35, as home mates.  The participants must not be married or pregnant.
The house mates would slug it out for 7 weeks in a location in Lagos where they are expected to play host to the wives of the three state Governors.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the Managing Director of X Media Communications Limited, Mr. Tunde Lawrenson said the lady who emerges overall winner of the pageant and reality show would cruise home with a Mitsubishi Jeep in addition to a cash reward of N4 million, with the first runner up caring away a Picanta Car plus N1 million cash.  He also added that the 2nd runner up would smile home with half a million Naira.
Mr. Lawrenson whose company is the media partner to the show sponsors, further disclosed that the 3rd runner up would be rewarded with lots of professional contracts while the winner, first runner up as well as the 2nd runner up would represent Nigeria at an international pageant billed for the last quarter of the year.
He also announced that winners up to the 10th position would become Brand Ambassadors.
Mr. Lawrenson further disclosed that the audition which is ongoing in the Rivers State capital, would follow suit in the other states, including Abuja, and expressed the hope that state representatives who emerge from the auditions would proceed to Lagos where they would kick off the pageant as house mates.
Expatiating on the show, Mr. Lawrenson emphasized that the show was not a beauty pageant in the strict sense, pointing out that the least pretty lady may eventually emerge the overall winner.
“The First Lady pageant is not a beauty contest but a test of entrepreneurial skill in the woman.  We are trying to engender the entrepreneurial spirit in the Nigerian lady.  We want to create more of the ladies of substance and champions of industry like the Okonjo-Iwualas, Oby Ezekwesili and Dora Akunyili to mention but few” he said.
He said the project is all about empowering the ladies so they can compete favourably in the society, adding that the show would bring ladies of ages 18-35 together in the same house for weeks, where they would be saddled with different tasks in business and entrepreneurialship.
