Recently, education stakeholders including
mainstream school proprietors and school operators alike in the Garden City of
Port Harcourt came to witness and became part of the much-talked-about public
presentation of Edusaas Pro, an all-in-one schools management software designed
to basically simplify the complex operations experienced by school owners in
their day to day running of education institutions especially at primary and
secondary schools levels. Edusaas Pro,
according to its mother company, Trisat, is a child of necessity owing to the long
time stretch of public research and enquiries amongst various grades and
categories of schools in the city of Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital
which revealed that parents and school owners in particular are not getting the
anticipated results when it comes to equitable service delivery across board. Mr Oseni Abiola, the Chief Executive Officer
of Trisat Communications Limited, while fielding questions from newsmen, retorted
that time has come for school owners and administrators of both primary and
secondary schools alike to take full advantage of the numerous benefits that
the information and communication technology comes with and eradicate the
unhealthy bottlenecks associated with the conventional and mechanical approach
of schools administration where huge catalogues of paper files and undue bureaucracy
pervades. According to Mr Abiola Oseni,
the schools management software – Edusaas Pro, cannot come in a better time
than now when school owners grapple with the challenges of school bus control
and tracking, school fees updates, assignment and home works, on-line results
checking, library management, multifarious use of bulk short message service
(sms) to teachers, parents, and students on crucial issues, sensitive education
reminders, on-line payment updates and a host of other central issues facing
the average school owners. The event
recorded the presence of other education support initiatives and platforms like
banks, laptop vending companies, internet services companies and other private
sector agencies willing to offer platforms to the benefits of school owners
with the aspiration to grow. The event under
the distinguished Chairmanship of Sir Lucky Ugochukwu Worluh, permanent board
member Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, was attended by
broad-based education stakeholders and frontliners some of which included Sir Eze
Ikechi Nwogu of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dame Dr. Mrs.
Augusta Fubara who was one-time best secondary schools principal in Nigeria and
currently voted Rivers State Woman of the Year in Education, Dr. Mrs Gina
Yeseibo a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and frontline
educationist, Dr. Peter Harrison – the Rivers State President, National
Association of Proprietors of Private Schools alongside other education
bigwigs. The program which ended with a
sumptuous dinner for stakeholders and special guests present aimed at encouraging
school owners to make the best use of the computer technology and move their
manual and primitive approaches in schools administration to the modern
technology in an attempt to achieve maximum productivity and improved service
delivery. Speaking on the occasion, Dr
Frank Amugo, Director, Rivers State College of Arts and Science ICT Centre
expressed delight at the entrant of the much-talked-about computer software for
basic schools and persuaded school owners and investors to embrace the numerous
bouquet of i.c.t. solutions contained in Edusaas Pro in an era that has experienced
large scale discontent and poor service delivery across board.
